McKinley Senior High School proudly offers innovative magnet components to prepare students for college and career ready pathways. Magnet schools are built on the five pillars of education:

Our Magnet program has focus tracks in Mass Media/Communication Arts which includes Broadcasting and Journalism, EBR’s ground-breaking Teacher Academy, along with an Innovative Arts track focusing on Modern Theatre. Our goal at McKinley Magnet High is to invest in the future of our students. We strive to provide all of the essential tools needed to create global learners. McKinley Magnet High is committed to fostering and providing an innovative and rigorous learning platform, while enhancing creativity, originality and artistry in every student.

Last two report cards showing 4 semesters (Overall GPA must be 2.5 or higher)
Last set of standardized test scores (Score of Proficient or higher in Reading and Math, Basic or higher in both categories for LEAP)
2 proofs of residence (gas, electric, cable, lease, mtg.)
Qualifying applicants are chosen through a computer-based lottery system and notified of acceptance. Current McKinley Senior High School students, applicants living in the McKinley Senior High School attendance zone, and siblings of current students will have priority admittance to the McKinley Senior High School Magnet Program.
